The third-generation ThinkPad X1 Tablet very nearly hits the nirvana of being both a brilliant tablet and a brilliant laptop.
It follows the Surface Pro design template, with a combined keyboard and cover that snaps into place, but where it wins over Microsoft’s offering is the quality of the keyboard: when you’re typing on a surface such as a desk, it feels exactly likeu sing a laptop. It can’t compete with a traditional clamshell design when sitting on your lap, though, because it still relies on a kickst and to support thes creen. With a 13 in 3K display, eighth-generation Intel Core processors and an optional stylus that supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure, itlooks like a grea tall-rounder. However, we’ll find out for sure when it’s released.
